Industry: Environment

Press Release Summary: Comic strip hopes to raise awareness of the impact made by
consumer electronics on global CO2 emissions and the environment through humor

Press Release Body: Lester, the new Sustainable Green Technology Manager in the
cartoon strip \"unripe\" (www.unripe.com) has declared this leap day to be a special
day to raise awareness of "Green IT" issues. He recommends that consumers:

1. Gain awareness of the green policies of technology companies.
2. Consider not purchasing from companies that don\'t exert pressure for sustainable
green practices within their organization and across their supply chain.
3. Develop an e-waste strategy for disposing of consumer electronics. This helps to
reduce the amount of mercury, lead, cadmium, Beryllium, PVCs, and other
environmental toxins that end up in landfills.
4. Enable the power management features in electronic devices.

While it is clear that Lester is serious about implementing green technology
reforms, the fictional Technology Company he works for has other ideas. This will
lead to many humorous situations that hopefully will raise awareness of
environmental issues.
